Food paper

Curious and Curious BIO

Curious, the only food paper on the market designed to enhance your and your customer's experience thanks to its central window. Its innovative design allows product visibility, facilitates handling during service and offers customisation possibilities, all while maintaining optimal food preservation.

Laypel and Laypel BIO

Our Laypel food paper combines two sheets of different substrates (paper and food film) to create a high barrier against grease and moisture, as well as being a paper that aims to reduce its ecological footprint. This paper preserves all the properties of the products: aromas, flavours and freshness and, of course, it is suitable for packaging all types of food.

Acuapal

This is a 100% plastic-free food paper designed with a special anti-moisture treatment that provides a very resistant barrier. Our Acuapal paper preserves the freshness and taste of the products without forgetting the environment.

HotMelt

The Hot Melt range is the result of our knowledge of the needs of the food industry: lightweight, highly resistant substrates. They have a high quality litho backing and a paraffin treatment on one side. Due to the composition, manufacture and treatments of these papers, they offer high resistance to grease and moisture. This barrier to grease and humidity is due to a vegetable paraffin treatment on one side.

Greaseproof paper cones

Our greaseproof paper cones are made of a highly resistant paper suitable for direct contact with very fatty foods. Both the resistant material and the design of the cones make them easy to use in fast food service - they are quick and practical to use, and convenient and clean during use.

Paraffin paper

Classic paraffin paper is paraffin-treated on both sides, which makes it a perfect packaging barrier against grease and moisture. The moisture barrier of this food-grade paper is highly resistant, so it not only has a great preservation capacity for food, but it is also very resistant to heat sealing.

Special paper

Certain foods require packaging with more technical characteristics due to their specifications. These types of products could include: fresh products, fatty or moist foods, such as fish, seafood, etc.

What printing options are available?

We always print with water-based inks in accordance with food safety regulations.

Up to 3 inks can be used, except for our greaseproof paper cones, which can only be printed in 1 ink.

The printing area depends on the paper so please check the detailed characteristics of each product.

What are the most sustainable paper options?

For example, for a butcher’s shop, the following:

If you have a fishmonger’s, it would be Acuapal.

What certificates do the most sustainable papers have?

All these papers have the TÜV Austria OK Compost Seal, which guarantees that they are biodegradable and compostable.

Menpal and Sulfipal BIO are also FSC® Mixed (FSC-C134171) certified, which guarantees that the paper comes from responsible sources.

What formats are available for sale?

Paper is normally bought in formats or in rolls. The quantity of paper per box is measured in kilos; each box has between 8 and 20 kg, depending on the paper.

What is the FSC® Mixed certificate?

FSC guarantees companies and consumers worldwide that the forest products they buy and sell come from responsibly managed sources. The internationally recognised FSC chain of custody (CoC) certificate is a cutting-edge monitoring tool to ensure that companies of all sizes separate certified and non-certified materials throughout the supply chain.

There are three types of label and FSC Mixed, which is applied to our bags, is specifically defined as “Packaging from responsible sources”.

Does the manufacturing process of these papers comply with any sustainable development goal?

With the FSC Mixed certificate we comply with SDG 15: Life in terrestrial ecosystems, in other words, sustainable forest management, although this goal also includes combatting desertification, halting and reversing land degradation and halting biodiversity loss.

The following details must be taken into account when considering the importance of forests and the urgent need to protect their management:

Between 2010 and 2015, the world lost 3.3 million hectares of forest land.

What is anti-moisture treatment?

It is known as WS treatment. With this treatment, the paper absorbs water but does not fall apart. It is a resin that makes the paper resistant to contact with wet products.

Are they recyclable?

Yes, in the most sustainable cases, these food papers are 100% recyclable and for the rest, their sheets can easily be separated so they can be recycled and return to the circular economy.
