Designed for
Materials
These bags are made from biodegradable materials, such as corn starch, potato starch, PLA (polylactic acid) and other plant polymers. Unlike traditional plastic bags, which can take hundreds of years to decompose, biodegradable bags decompose in a much shorter period of time, usually under composting conditions.
However, it is important to note that biodegradable bags still need to be disposed of correctly in order to break down effectively. If left in the environment without proper management, they can take a long time to decompose, just like conventional plastic.
Design
The bags have a side fold for easy opening and handling.

The different formats of bag can be customised with a one ink on one or both sides.
Must be stored in the original packaging, protected from sunlight, at room temperature (between 15-22 °C), relative humidity below 50% and away from damp soil. In other words, store it in dry conditions, in a room not exposed to frost. For room temperatures over 30 °C, store in an air-conditioned room.
This material should be consumed within 12 months of manufacture, as after this period optimal conditions cannot be guaranteed.
Biodegradable indicates that a substance can degrade or decompose by reintegrating into the soil under natural environmental conditions.
Compostable means that a biodegradable substance degrades in a short period of time under composting plant conditions into compost, carbon dioxide and water, similar to other organic waste. All compostable substances are biodegradable, but not all biodegradable substances are compostable.
Yes, the material they are made of means that they should preferably be used within 12 months of delivery.
The difference between the two certificates is the fact that the industrial certificate guarantees biodegradability in an industrial composting plant and the OK Compost HOME certificate considers that the volume of waste involved is much smaller, so the temperature in compost is lower and less constant than in the industrial composting environment.
